I have a confession to make.
Today I used my deco scissors. You know the ones that cut everything but a straight line and that no one likes to admit they own or use.
They're fun, gives a different look and it is a lot faster than setting up the electronic die cutter. I own them and I use them when the project calls for it.
This is me having fun with a sketch challenge and the DD "More is more, Less is less" challenge on Split coast Stampers. It has been a while since I've done a challenge. I usually don't participate because I like to work at my own pace, but these just spoke to me.
Everything but the belly band and flower was cut with my Klic-N-Kut. The stamp used is from StampinUp "Delight in Life".
This week is ending up being a grand week for getting goodies in the mail. Yesterday the stamps arrived (they're already trimmed and mounted) and the KnK is scheduled to arrive on Thursday.
I was seriously thinking that I would not get all those sets mounted yesterday, because by the end of it the scissors were starting to rub the skin of my thumb and the middle finger is swollen where the scissors were resting. This always happens when I'm getting a mostly stamp shipment from SU. I trim and I trim and I trim and the pile of untrimmed sets doesn't seem to get any smaller until my fingers hurt. I am starting to wish that SU would start die cutting the regular sets like they're now doing with all mini catalog sets. So much easier to pop the stamps out and mount them, though I do wonder how much the prices would go up if SU were to go down that road.
Anyway, Thursday is KnK day. I am happy that it doesn't arrive at the beginning of the week or I would have to wait until the weekend to get all set up and running. Now I just have to have the machine sitting for a day (or two) letting it adjust itself to not being on the road (It's always a good idea letting electronics do this).
I wonder how I should break it to the good old Wishblade that it's about the be demoted, unhooked from the computer and moved off from the shelf of honor. It has served me so well over the years, though it has started to sound a bit tired lately.

Yay my StampinUp SAB order finally got here. As expected they were a bit behind on picking and shipping due to SAB. I was getting a bit nervous this morning though. It said the package sat in Des Moines with no notice of it having left there and going out for delivery here.
Needless to say I am going to have a lot of fun tonight fondling all the rubber :)
I don't know yet when the KnK will ship. I am hoping and crossing my fingers that it'll be here by the end of the week.
that it would be easier to use the grid lines on my clear stamping block if I actually cleaned it?
Heh!
Submitted my StampinUp order today. Could have done it much earlier (or later) in the year, but wanted to make sure I got my free SAB stuff. Who doesn't love free stuff :D
The list is long, very long but I am going to have so much fun when it comes in.
Stipple Brushes, Perennial Favorites, Always, Take Three, Priceless, Boho Backgrounds, One of a kind, All Scallops, Happiness, From the kitchen of, Form & Function, Sweet Serendipity, Smarty Pants, Enjoy every moment, Fruit Stand
SAB stuff:
So many scallops, Birthday Whimsy, Lots of thoughts, Friendship blooms, Merci, Love & Happiness (rub ons)
Because my regular order qualifies for it I got an extra set of the rub ons
And because StampinUp believes in rewarding their customers for spending money I also got the following stuff as hostess benefits:
Infinite Goodness, Totally Tabs, Round Tab Punch
That is 21 sets of stamps which needs to be trimmed and/or mounted.
Now I just need to figure out how to store these puppies, because my current solution is full with no easy way to expand.
Was doing a bit of goofing around to shake off the bad feelings about the previous card I posted. I love this simple style of card and wish I was a lot better at it.

This is my attempt at Sketch challenge 143. I really liked the sketch when I first saw it. As I worked with the card I started to like it less and less to the point where I don't like the finished product. It came out nothing like I had imagined. I wish I had not used that patterned paper, at least then I might have had a remote chance of saving the card.
Stamps Used: SU - Flannel Plaid & Sincere Salutations & Looks Like Spring, Misc stamps from Michaels
Ink: SU - Creamy Caramel & Chocolate Chip & Old Olive
Paper: DCWV Fall Stack (Years old)

This is my attempt at sketch challenge SC142 at Splitcoast Stampers (If you're into stamping and don't know this side yet, please take some time to surf around. So, so much inspiration and a great bunch of people).

I don't know how I ended up making a Christmas card in September. Maybe because I was already in a seasonal kinda mood from the Halloween Treat Box I made yesterday.
The stocking is a wishblade cutting file. I found it at PaperThreads somewhere in the forum.
