What's your favorite kind of homemade cookie? Share the recipe if you have it.
That's an easy one to answer.
Chocolate Chip Cookies.
The recipe we're using supposedly have been in the family since forever. When mixed up the dough is very heavy and very dense. I have been told that you gotta use the heavy machinery when mixing it up and then people usually end the story by telling how one grandma or another burned up a mixer that didn't have a good enough motor to handle the dough.
That is what has been issued for the day. The estimate is anywhere from a trace up to 4" in places. With our luck it'll probably be 4" or nothing. At least that is how it seems like things are normally going around here.
Talked hubby into doing takeout something for lunch today. That way I have the undivided time to get going on the cooking which needs to get started today. We're only the two of us this year (a little sad about that) so it isn't much, but cooking lunch & dinner and start the cooking for tomorrow and all the dishes which needs to be cleaned makes me want to opt for takeout.
Who would have known that kitties actually have patience when waiting for the weekly can of wet food? From previous behavior I sure had not noticed.
Let me backtrack a little..
I did not get any sleep last night, so when it came time for hubby to leave for work I was pretty durn tired and headed directly to bed to catch some snoozes.
6 hours later I finally wake back up.
This is long after the time the furry members of the household normally get their wet food and neither of them had tried to wake me up to remind that it was time and they would be starving to death if they didn't get fed right now.
I did not know that ours had any ounce of patience left, but it sure was nice getting a decent snooze. Of course I now have to deal with the problem of going to bed and falling asleep tonight.
One freezer safe plastic container filled with not yet frozen chilli needs to sit on a totally flat surface in the freezer until it's frozen. Doing anything else will make your kitchen look like a crime scene with brain splatter all over the place, if the container falls off the shelf while trying to get something else out of the freezer.
Don't ask me how I know. Thankfully we did not have to hire a special trained crime scene cleanup crew.
Yeah that was the most exciting happening over the weekend.
Managed to walk out of both Michaels and Joanns without spending a dime. That has not happened in a long, long time. Of course I am slowly shifting gears towards not buying/wanting much on this side of Christmas (Still have that stamp order). I have seen so many (mostly) women complain about not getting anything for Christmas, but they fail to think about their own spending habits and how they don't give their husbands a fair chance of gifting them anything interesting because these women buy and buy and buy and buy.

I think I would prefer to use anything but spam in this recipe. Either cubed turkey, chicken or ham sounds pretty good.

1/3 Cup Melted Butter
11/4 Cup Cranberries (Fresh or Frozen)
1/2 Cup Walnuts (Chopped)
Preheat oven to 350 F.
