I have a confession to make.
Today I used my deco scissors. You know the ones that cut everything but a straight line and that no one likes to admit they own or use.
They're fun, gives a different look and it is a lot faster than setting up the electronic die cutter. I own them and I use them when the project calls for it.
Someone please remind to try and plan ahead a little bit next time I get crafty ideas?
I just dumped a load of coffee grounds which I could have used to do the aging on some card stock and paper I wanted to work with tonight. Now I have to wait until tomorrow instead. Probably better though, but damnit I wanted to do the aging tonight so it could dry overnight and I could work on my project tomorrow in between doing laundry and other fun housework type stuff.
I thought I had just posted, but as it turns out it has been 12 days already. I guess time do fly when you're having fun.
We've still got grass and a lot more of it too. There's still a few minor piles of that white stuff hanging around though not in our yard. Hubby is very happy about that.
I spoke too soon. Between starting this post last night and waking up this morning we've got snow on the ground. Not inches and inches of it, but enough that we cannot currently see as much grass as we could yesterday. My bet is that it will not last long.
My craft table is a mess right now. Piles of stamp sets, creative magazines, things to alter, finished projects and other misc stuff sitting around while I try to figure out what to do with them. And I am having what seems like a blue million ideas brewing. I don't know how many of them I will actually act on, but it is nice at least having the option of whether or not I want to do something instead of spending time trying to come up with ideas just to justify the amount of craft supplies I have managed to collect. Besides I am trying to do a bit of stash busting. There's so much paper, card stock, ribbon etc and it won't do any good if I don't use at least some of it :)
I have been posting some of my projects on Flickr. One of these days I might actually get around to set up blog posting from there, so I won't have to worry about uploading there and uploading and posting here. Too much work when all I want to do it play and have fun.
And hubby rejoiced greatly :)
Yes, we still have that white stuff on the ground though it is not as pretty as when freshly fallen. Unfortunately this also means that we're beginning to see just how much cleanup we have to do, once it's all gone.
I am so looking forward to that task.
I did get my Klic-N-Kut (KnK) two weeks ago and I've had an absolute blast playing and getting comfortable with it. This machine is fast. With the wishblade I could get up, go for a drink or take a potty break while it was cutting. Depending on what I'm cutting with the KnK, there is barely time to get out of my chair before it's done cutting.
We did have a bit of "fun" making room for the KnK in the craft room. Initially hubby thought I'd have to move into what is currently the tv room, but with a bit of very creative pushing things around we managed to find the needed space in the craft room. And it actually looks bigger too. The only down side is, that there is no way I'll be able to fit anything else in here. I have def maxed out the space I have.
This week is ending up being a grand week for getting goodies in the mail. Yesterday the stamps arrived (they're already trimmed and mounted) and the KnK is scheduled to arrive on Thursday.
I was seriously thinking that I would not get all those sets mounted yesterday, because by the end of it the scissors were starting to rub the skin of my thumb and the middle finger is swollen where the scissors were resting. This always happens when I'm getting a mostly stamp shipment from SU. I trim and I trim and I trim and the pile of untrimmed sets doesn't seem to get any smaller until my fingers hurt. I am starting to wish that SU would start die cutting the regular sets like they're now doing with all mini catalog sets. So much easier to pop the stamps out and mount them, though I do wonder how much the prices would go up if SU were to go down that road.
Anyway, Thursday is KnK day. I am happy that it doesn't arrive at the beginning of the week or I would have to wait until the weekend to get all set up and running. Now I just have to have the machine sitting for a day (or two) letting it adjust itself to not being on the road (It's always a good idea letting electronics do this).
I wonder how I should break it to the good old Wishblade that it's about the be demoted, unhooked from the computer and moved off from the shelf of honor. It has served me so well over the years, though it has started to sound a bit tired lately.

Yay my StampinUp SAB order finally got here. As expected they were a bit behind on picking and shipping due to SAB. I was getting a bit nervous this morning though. It said the package sat in Des Moines with no notice of it having left there and going out for delivery here.
Needless to say I am going to have a lot of fun tonight fondling all the rubber :)
I don't know yet when the KnK will ship. I am hoping and crossing my fingers that it'll be here by the end of the week.
That was one of the first questions I asked myself after we had gotten the new monitor home and hooked up. Got a slightly bigger monitor and wide screen to boot. So nice with a bit more screen real estate, though it is taking a bit getting used to the view when doing the graphics stuff.
Yesterday I started work on a small 4 drawer chest all done in card stock and paper, but I don't have anything to use for feet or drawer pulls.
Why is it that I somehow always end up starting or working on projects for which I don't have all the supplies needed to finish them?
that it would be easier to use the grid lines on my clear stamping block if I actually cleaned it?
Heh!
Submitted my StampinUp order today. Could have done it much earlier (or later) in the year, but wanted to make sure I got my free SAB stuff. Who doesn't love free stuff :D
The list is long, very long but I am going to have so much fun when it comes in.
Stipple Brushes, Perennial Favorites, Always, Take Three, Priceless, Boho Backgrounds, One of a kind, All Scallops, Happiness, From the kitchen of, Form & Function, Sweet Serendipity, Smarty Pants, Enjoy every moment, Fruit Stand
SAB stuff:
So many scallops, Birthday Whimsy, Lots of thoughts, Friendship blooms, Merci, Love & Happiness (rub ons)
Because my regular order qualifies for it I got an extra set of the rub ons
And because StampinUp believes in rewarding their customers for spending money I also got the following stuff as hostess benefits:
Infinite Goodness, Totally Tabs, Round Tab Punch
That is 21 sets of stamps which needs to be trimmed and/or mounted.
Now I just need to figure out how to store these puppies, because my current solution is full with no easy way to expand.
Yesterday was one long battle of the will with a certain orange and fuzzy member of the household. I don't know what was going on in the little head of his, but it seems like being in the craft room was wrong but so was being out of the craft room. Or I sat in the wrong chair at the wrong time.
Then of course he had to go and play alarm clock only to completely disappear after I got out of bed this morning.
Ahh the joys of living with pampered house piggies :D
Am having a CIP (Card in progress) on the table, but after doing a non glue assembly it just isn't working the way I had imagined so I've left it on the table and keep going back and forth while looking at it and trying different ways to lay out the various elements. Maybe i should put it aside for a brief and play with something else.
